Fresh Trouble Looms For Senate As DSS ‘Handpicks’ Abaribe
The Nigerian Senate has again been offered a condition of no breathing space as another lawmaker, Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe, representing Abia south, is apprehended.
The Department of State Services reportedly arrested him at Transcorp Hilton hotel in Abuja on Friday.
Although, the reason for the lawmaker’s arrest is yet unknown but his arrest comes at the time the President complained on some cuts by the National Assembly in the 2018 national budget and the ‘unnecessary inclusions’ of the lawmakers in the same law.
In recent times, the Nigerian lawmakers have been object of investigations under the law-enforcement agencies ranging from the Senate President Bukola Saraki, Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu, Dino Melaye among others.
