Four Arrested For Lynching Suspected ‘Yahoo Boy’ In Ondo

The Police in Ondo state has arrested four of those who were allegedly involved in the ‘stoning to death’ of one Temitope Olorunfemi, who was suspected to be an internet fraudster at Ijoka area of Akure, the Ondo state capital city, last week.

Parading the suspects before newsmen at the Police Headquarters, Akure, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya said investigations so far showed that the suspects participated in the lynching of the boy.

She said some of the suspects were neighbours to the deceased at Ijoka area of Akure, as they are Okada riders and commercial drivers.

The police spokesperson listed the names of the suspects as; Ismaila Durotoye (32), Pelumi Farotimi (42), Samuel Olatunji (20) and Victor Amos (30year-old)

Odunlami also said the suspects would be charged to court after the completion of investigation, for murder and arson, while appealing to members of the public not to take laws into their own hands.

Nigerian cable news online reported how
Temitope Olorunfemi was beaten to death by a mob, after an accident where at least four persons reportedly died on Easter Monday.

His car, a Toyota Camry was also set ablaze by the mob in the presence of his wailing parents.
