FG Survival Fund: Take Advantage of Opportunity, MSME Ambassador Urges Youths

A young entrepreneur and the 2020 MSME National Ambassador, Ambassador Orioye Benedict Gbayisemore has advised youths to key into the MSME Survival Fund, an initiative of the Federal government of Nigeria to help reduce the effect of COVID-19 on the citizens.

Orioye, who is into the sea food business, noted that the scheme will help young entrepreneurs in cover lost grounds and steady them to withstand the post COVID-19 economic setbacks.

“The long awaited MSME Survival Fund is a blessing in disguise for many young enterprising Nigerian youth. It is an idea of the Federal government to cushion the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic through the office of the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo in conjunction with the Ministry of trade and investment, SMEDAN, BOI and some corporate organizations.”

“The youths must take advantage of this opportunity now and help the nation created more jobs. We must must begin to produce more than we consume. It is an avenue to expand their business using technology as a driving tool.” He concluded.

The scheme, which will also include the registration of business names for free, is in different phases. The fund will cut across different strata of the bottom line economic driver of the country including the NURTW.

The registration for the Payroll Support scheme for the MSME Survival Fund has commenced on 21st of September with 333,000 artisans and transport operators as well as 500,000 vulnerable MSMEs poised to receive #30,000 and #50,000 respectively for a period of 3 months.
