Fee Hike Crisis: Another Ondo Varsity Shut Indefinitely
Like Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba Akoko (AAUA), The University authorities of Ondo State University of Science and Technology (OSUSTECH) in Okitipupa has postponed the mid-semester break given to its students indefinitely
The students protested three weeks ago over the institution’s school fees increment.
Following the students demonstration which disrupted academic and economic activities in the community, the school directed the students to immediately vacate the campus for a mid-semester break.
However, the students resumption slated for May 20,2019 has been postponed.
The Registrar of the university, Felix Akinnusi, in a memo on Friday noted that a new resumption would be announced later.
” This is to inform all students and the entire University Community that Senate at its 31st regular meeting directed that the resumption of students from the mid-semester break earlier fixed for Monday 20th May, 2019 be further postponed.
” A new resumption date will be announced later.
” On behalf of the Vice Chancellor, Senate and management of the university, I wish all students a happy mid-semester break,” the memo read.
