Ekimogun Honours New Iyaloja General Of Ondo State

It was all pomp and pageantry as the people of Ondo kingdom converged on the Oseyemi Akingbule Hall in Ondo on Sunday, to receive the new head of market women in the state known as the ‘Iyaloja General’ of Ondo State, Chief Mrs Iwalola Adefemiwa (Nee Olowosuko).

The new Iyaloja was honoured by The Ekimogun Round-table, a socio-cultural group of sons and daughters of Ondo kingdom.

The new Iyaloja General, Mrs Adefemiwa appreciated them for the honour done on her by the group and promised to work assiduously for the development of all traders in the kingdom and the state at large.

The new market women leader was later administered the oath of office by Barrister Kayode Adeola after which she was decorated by the National Association of Nigerian Traders (NANTS).

Earlier, Secretary of The Ekimogun Round-table, Mr. Akingunola omoniyi
called on sons and daughters of Ondo kingdom to rally round the new Iyaloja General in order to be successful in the new position given to her and by extension, Ondo kingdom.

In his goodwill message at the event, the member representing Ondo East/West federal constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. Joseph Akinlaja appreciated the traders for adding value to the economy.

He urged them to go about their trading with respect to the laws of the land while adding that traders should desist from putting their wares on the roadside in view of the hazards in it.

The new Iyaloja General, Mrs Iwalola Adefemiwa is the first Ekimogun to be elected the Iyaloja General of Ondo State.
