Dangote’s Refinery: Mimiko Speaks on Relocation from Ondo to Lagos

Former Governor of Ondo state, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko has spoken on the relocation of the Dangote oil refinery from Ondo to Lagos state.

In a statement signed by his media aide, Mr. John Paul Akinduro on Tuesday, Mimiko denied demanding any personal gain from the businessman over the project.

Below is the statement unedited;

Reports of the oft repeated falsehood about Aliko Dangote opting out of the Olokola FTZ for his refinery project, owing to an alleged demand for personal benefit by Dr Olusegun Mimiko has been brought to our notice.

We state that this lie is totally reprehensible. That otherwise informed people are repeating the utter falsehood is sad.

We state for the umpteenth time that Mimiko did not make any personal demand, cash or kind, or receive any personal gratification that led to the location of the factory in Lagos instead of Olokola.

Again, this allegation is a blatant lie and we hope that Alhaji Aliko Dangote will, one day, volunteer facts on why he chose Lagos over Olokola.

Special Assistant on Media and Digital Communications to Former Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State

    Who is interested in challenging the falsehood by mimiko? Why not put this statement in the national dailies so he can get a quick response from the most devilish wealthy businessman in Nigeria.? đŸ˜’
    I’ve heard it, believed it, and also spread it, that Mimiko chased Dangote away from Ondo State with his unhealthy personal demands just like Obasanjo was reportedly being bankrolled my MTN from our daily airtime recharges.

    If he (Mimiko) wants to truly convince us, let him challenge Aliko to help him shed some light through the national dailies. Thank you. But without that. Personal blogs won’t work!
