The God’s Spirit Touch Church International, a.k.a. Chosen Chapel, charged N5,000 as ‘deliverance fees’ , for its members, report states.
A receipt which surfaced online indicates a man paid the sum of N5,000 to purchase ‘deliverance’ at the church located in Calabar, southern Nigeria.
A church official gave the reason for the charges to be on need for the rebuilding of the church because of damages from erosion.
“To say the truth as a child of God, the money was contribution for rebuilding the church because we’ve been battling with erosion,” the official, who identified himself as Prophet Osuala said.
“We’ve written to NDDC (Niger Delta Development Commission) for support but no response came,” Mr. Osuala said.
When asked why the fee was billed as going into deliverance purposes when it was for construction, Mr. Osuala said members are allowed to make donations “anyhow they like.”
“They’re sowing a seed, so it’s doesn’t matter how it’s done,” the pastor said.
