Buhari’s Proposed 2018 Budget Not Realistic _ Ben Bruce
The common sense Senator Ben-Murray Bruce has criticised the 2018 Budget proposal submitted by President Mohammadu Buhari to the National Assembly.
Senator Ben Murray Bruce doesn’t believe that President Muhammadu Buhari’s proposed budget for the 2018 fiscal year will put the country’s economy out of its current woes.
According to him, the proposed budget of consolidation is largely built on debt servicing which he argued does not focus on the reality of Nigeria.
“With due respect, the 2018 budget is far from being a budget of ‘consolidation’. A budget built with debt. We spend one quarter of our revenue on debt servicing.
It is more realistically termed a budget of over active imagination divorced from
reality” , Ben Bruce wrote on Twitter.

Bruce has joined the leaque of politicians deceiving Nigerians in disquise of trying to make common sense which is not common. The huge salaries and allowances in addition to constituency allowances being collected and squandered by the so called legislators at the detriment of Nigerians is among of one the socials vices is running Nigerians into debt thereby making us to spend so much on debt servicing. It is high time we separate fact from the fictions of life and stop playing the politics of condemnation and acrymony most especially when we happen to contribute to the problem on ground. The best way to develop an under developed economy is by sourcing for fund domestically using the existing financial institutions available within your domain. It is not a crime for a nation to borrow externally but the money borrowed must be used for the execution of reasonable infrastructures which the economic rate of marginal return is something to write home about at the short run. This is contrary in the case of Nigeria where money borrowed are spend on projects that are not profit oriented. As the reality has done on us, we cannot return to origin rather we maintain status quo which PMB is doing. So, enough of these criticism and let us work on the way forward in a more civilised way not by blowing the trumpet that is catastrophic in the interest of Nigeria.
