Why Buhari Is Right For Speaking To Nigerians In Native Language – Senator Shehu Sani

Following the controversies that trailed President Mohammadu Buhari’s address to Nigerians in his native language, Hausa. On the just celebrated EID-EL-FITRI, a Nigerian Senator, Shehu Sani has justified the act of the ailing President.

While responding to many reactions from Nigerian stakeholders and politicians across, Senator Shehu posited thus;
“there’s nothing wrong with the President sending Sallah message in Hausa Language. He is on medical vacation. He has transferred power to the Acting President. It’s the Acting President that is bound to act ‘officially’ on state matters, including speaking in ‘Our official Language, English”.

The Senator representing Kaduna Cental however admitted to the sensitivity of the President speaking to Nigerians in Hausa, as it could have been averted. He said again;

“Understandably, we live in times when everything is sensitive and subject to interrogation and interpretation, this is avoidable. Let’s pray for our President and our country and work hard to surmount our challenges rather than harp on the superficial and the mundane”.

The Presidency aired an audio clip of Buhari felicitating with Nigerians on the occasion of Ramadan fasts via BBC and other local radio stations, last Sunday.
