Buhari Blows Hot Over Lagos Building Collapse

President Muhammadu Buhari has charged Governor Akinwunmi Ambode-led government of Lagos state to ensure that there is no repeat of the tragic collapse of building like such as Wednesday’s own in Ita – Faaji, Lagos Island.

In the early hours of Wednesday, a three-storey building on the Island, hosting Ohen Nursery and Primary School, totally crumbled, claiming no fewer than 12 lives.

Many others were badly injured as rescue officials of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA among others were on site to revive victims under the debris.

Following the incident, the president expressed his heartfelt sympathy on the mishap.

“I’m extremely saddened by the news of the collapsed building in Itafaaji area of Lagos. It touches one to lose precious lives in any kind of mishap, particularly those so young and tender. May God grant everyone affected by this sad incident fortitude and succour”, he said.

He also asked the state government to implement actions which will forestall future occurrences.

As said: ‘I charge the Lagos State Government to do all that is needful, so that such tragic developments do not recur’, the president added.
