Two shot Dead in Ondo cultists reprisal Attack

The Ondo state Police command has confirmed a reprisal Attack between rival cult groups in Akungba Akoko town of Akoko Southwest local government area in the state.

Nigerian cable news online gathered that two persons were reportedly shot dead during the attack in the University host community on Wednesday evening.

The Ondo state Police PRO, Mr. tee-leo Ikoro told Nigeriancablenewsonline.com that the Wednesday attack is as a result of the killing of Mr. Babatunde Adeluka
Olubasa, a 40 Year old Alumnus of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA), who was assassinated in a popular helina hotel at Ijapo area of Akure, Ondo state capital on boxing day.

Nigerian cable news online reported how Mr. Babatunde was shot dead inside the hotel premises where he lodged on Saturday.

It was gathered that Babatunde was trailed to the hotel by three armed men after attending a function in Akure.

He was shot at the bar of the hotel where he relaxed to take a drink.

An alleged cult member who reportedly die in the Wednesday gun battle was simply indentified as “A.Y Chiller”.

The Police however said it has started investigation into the attacks and brief journalists as soon as possible.
