BREAKING: Oyo 2019: Lanlehin, Others Step Down For PDP’s Candidate, Seyi Makinde
Engineer Seyi Makinde, the Oyo state governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party has earned the mass support of three of his major contenders as they stepped down from the race, Nigerian Cable News online can report.
Report says Olufemi Lanlehin, governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Sharafadeen Alli, governorship candidate of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), and Bolaji Ayorinde, candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) will now join forces with Makinde so that they could defeat ruling All Progressive’s Congress’ candidate, Adebayo Adelabu.
A media aide to Lanlehin, who confirmed his principal’s decision, said the position was based on the premise of “rescuing the state”.
The decision to support Makinde comes days after Alao Akala, governorship candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), decided to pitch his tent with APC.
