BREAKING: Ekiti State Government Receives 11billion Naira Refund From Federal Government
In what appears as a prayer answered for the Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose over his recent allegation that the former governor of the state and the current Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Dr Kayode Fayemi was responsible for the blockage of the 11 billion Federal Government refund to the state, hope is on the way as the Federal Government made the 11billion refund available for state.
Addressing news men in Abuja yesterday, the Minister of Finance Mrs Kemi Adeosun said the money is part of the refund on some federal roads rehabilitated by the State government.
She said though most of the roads were not repaired by Fayose’s administration. But the Federal Government is committed to fulfilling its promise.
Adeosun said President Mohammadu Buhari has ordered her ministry to have meeting with the Accountant General Ekiti state and commissioner for finance on this.
Governor Fayose had earlier said “I was sure that the over N11 billion owed the State by the federal government on construction and rehabilitation of federal roads will be paid to Ekiti like other states this month”.

May God help us till we get this money for the development of the state…
Good development, if so, Ekiti workers will rejoice and life will return normalcy again. Mr Governor should however be careful not to disappoint the workers. I enjoin him to use the money as judiciously as he has promised. I sincerely commend the Federal government for this move. It is well with our beloved State: Ekiti and our great nation, Nigeria at large.
I hope the Local Government workers and pensioners will not be left out on the guise of different accounts.
The money should only be released in principle to Ekiti State. There is need for Fayose to leave as Governor of Ekiti State before practical disbursement as Fayose will very likely squander the money.
