Ambode Begins House Demolition In Lagos Island

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode-led government in Lagos state has started the demolition of buildings marked ‘illegal and have tendencies of collapse’ on the Lagos Island.

Government officials are currently pulling down such houses on Freeman street in Ita Faji area.

This is a development that followed the tragic collapse of a three-storey building on Massey street in the same area, which ended up killing at least 20 people, including nine children

About 50 other were also rescued from the incident.
