Akure Monarch Announces Markets Closure
The Deji and Paramount Ruler of Akure Kingdom, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi has announced the closure of all markets in the Ondo state Capital City and other adjourning towns.
This was made public through a Press statement signed by Mr. Michael Adeyeye, the Chief Press Secretary to the King, and sent to nigeriancablenewsonline.com

CLOSURE OF MARKETS AND SHOPS IN AKURE TO OBSERVE AHEREGBE FESTIVAL
The Palace wish to notify the residents of Akure and its environ that all Markets and Shops in Akure should remain closed on Monday 27th August, 2018.
2. The closure becomes necessary as part of the age long tradition in observing the annual Aheregbe Festival.
3. The Palace wish to inform residents that no trading or opening of shops under any guise will be allowed.
4. Residents, Market Women and shop owners are kindly enjoined to comply with this directive.
5. However, the festival will not in anyway restrict both human and vehicular movement.
