Boroffice Is Not An APC Senator, I Don’t Know Where He Belongs _ Akeredolu

Ondo State Governor, Mr. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN on Saturday said there are two senators in the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Ondo State.

The Governor stated this while speaking with journalists after the unity rally of the party in commemoration of the one year of the Governor in office

The three Senators from Ondo State, Yele Omogunwa(South) Tayo Alasoadura(Central) and Ajayi Boroffice(North) are all in the ruling APC.

But, Akeredolu confirmed that he only recognized the duo of Omogunwa and Alasoadura as the senators from the party in Ondo State.

He said: ” I know of two senators from APC in Ondo State, and they are Senator Tayo Alasoadura and Senator Yele Omogunwa. For me, those two have been supportive and I know Yele has other engagement somewhere. Senator Alasoadura has been supportive from beginning to the end. So, those are the two senators I know in APC in Ondo State, I don’t know where the other belongs.”

Akeredolu, who also endorsed the second term election of President Muhammadu Buhari, revealed that the campaign office of the President would soon be opened in the state ahead of the 2019 general elections.

” It is not a tactics support. It is an open support, I am one of those Governors that asked him to come and contest. I am one of the governors that will give everything it takes for him to become the next President in 2019. I am open and frontal about the second term,” he boasted

Speaking at the rally, the National Chairman of the APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun commended the Governor for his efforts in transforming the state in the last one year.

He advised the people of the state to support the Akeredolu led government as its settle down for governance in the years ahead.

On his part ,the Minister of Solid Minerals, Dr Kayode Fayemi thanked the Governor for fulfilling his campaign promises, saying ” it has been one year of re-engineering in Ondo State.”

The minister announced that work would commence this year on the licensed bitumen in the southern senatorial district of the state.

Present at the rally were,Governors Ibikunle Amosun(Ogun) Godwin Obaseki(Edo);former governor of Ekiti State and National Deputy Chairman of APC,Chief Segun Oni; Minister of State for Niger Delta Affairs,Prof. Cladious Daramola; National Vice Chairman South West of APC, Chief Pius Akinyelure.

Also present were, Chief Olusola Oke,the Cmmissioner for Regional Planning in Osun State,Mr Bola Ilori, Senator Tayo Alasoadura, Hon. Afe Olowookere,House of Representatives member representing Akure South/Akure North Constituency, amongst others.
