APC Governors Divided Over Oshiomole’s Plan To Mobilize Funds For Saraki’s Removal

Sources within the All Progressives Congress(APC) have disclosed that the APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomole has summoned governors elected on the platform of the party to a meeting to mobilize funds to unleash several onslaughts for the removal of Dr Bukola Saraki as Senate President.

According to one of the sources in the APC, who spoke on condition of anonymity, the plan by the APC Chairman have caused a division among the Governors, many of whom are not in support and have distanced themselves from the said plan.

Only Kano, Kaduna, Kogi, Osun state Governors are said to be in full support of the plan and have made financial commitment to ensure its success.

The source said “as part of ongoing plans to ensure Saraki is removed as Senate President, the National Chairman has called for another meeting of APC Governors this week to finalise plans and raise funds to launch several orchestrated plans that would eventually lead to the impeachment of Saraki.

“The Chairman had earlier informed the Governors of the plan and had directed them to make some financial commitment to the tune of billions of Naira to execute the plan. The plan did not however go down well with some of the Governors who advised Oshiomole not to drag the party in the mud by engaging in illegal acts that would further plummet the image of the party.

“Governors of Kano, Kaduna, Kogi and Osun states were the only Governors who disagreed with their other colleagues and gave the Chairman their full support and vowed to mobilize resources to ensure Saraki is removed by any means.”

Another source also said “You will recall that Oshiomole had assured President Muhammadu Buhari before embarking on his vacation to London, that he would leave no stone unturned in ensuring Saraki is removed from office either by legal or crooked means before the president’s arrival.

“This is part of the plan. And as it is right now the Governors are already divided over the desperation of the National Chairman to mobilize resources for the impeachment of Saraki. Only four Governors are in support, because others see it as a waste of time and resources.”

“The Governors who are not in support have advised him to let go, but he won’t listen, because he had vowed and bragged he would ensure Saraki is removed from office for defecting to the PDP and he’s exploring all possible and impossible means to achieve this.”
