Akungba Fatal Accident, a multiple tragedy – BTO
Again, in our own dear Akoko, we are in the news for the negative reasons following a fatal accident that reportedly killed people in the University town of Akungba Akoko yesterday.
We have been struck with multiple tragedy! Tragedy of a former SUG President and a final year law student losing his life and another tragedy of three siblings of the same parents reportedly losing their lives too.
I have also gathered that bodies are still being recovered from the scene of the sad incident. This is not the Akoko we all dream of.
A land that’s supposed to be a place where dreams are nurtured and aspirations fulfilled has turned to a blood-sucking ground. We must act and very fast!
While we mourn and grief the departure of those who lost their lives, we will intensify efforts in addressing this avoidable menace.
We will engage stakeholders in the Akoko project to profer a perfect or near-perfect solution to the recurrent accident around that axis.
Meanwhile, we condole with the loved ones and families of victims of the incident and we pray God grants them the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
