Akoko Youth New Leadership Promise to Unite Members, Pleads For More Govt Intervention
The youths from the four local governments in Akoko have called on government at all levels to help solve the infrastructural problems in the area. The call was made by the new president, Olukayode Olugbenga Esq. while addressing the press at the inauguration ceremony of the new leadership of the body in Ikare Akoko.
Mr. Olukayode assured that efforts will be made to foster unity among the youths in Akoko in a bid to attract development to the area.
He said: “On our part, we are going to unify Akoko youths. Unity is our target. It is after unity that we can talk about development.”
“As you can see, there are improvements in all these roads but we expect more concentration and dedication on the parts of the government and contractors.”
“We are still praying for More (interventions) so that our agricultural produce can be exported and our people can live in a conducive environment.”
While responding to question on the political stand of the body, the president noted that: “We cannot remove politics from Akoko youth. All of us belong to one party or the other but the body will be apolitical.”
The outgoing President, Mr. Babatunde Momoh and the convention chairman, Mr. Adojutelegan Mayowa promise to give the necessary support to the body when called upon.
Present at the inauguration ceremony were notable leaders from the four local governments including State Assembly members, fulfilled business men and women, present and past Federal legislators among others.
