The long awaited coronation of HRM Oba Sunday Isaac Ajimo, the Alale of Akungba-Akoko. Which was scheduled to hold on Saturday 29th July 2017 was allegedly suspended because of some security reports and petitions received by the government.

The state government made this known, through a letter signed by Mr. Adeyemi Adeyemo, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of local government and chieftaincy Affairs.

The letter Reads Partly thus;

“The state government have received series of petitions and security reports against the planned coronation ceremony of Your Royal Highness, which is scheduled to hold on 29th, July 2017.”

“Government has considered the development and decided that, in the interest of sustainance of the prevailing peace in Akungba Community in particular and the state in general, the planned coronation ceremony be suspended. I’m.not sure the government real want peace to rain in the town and I’m not sure he wan progress for the town if not the coronation will not be suspended because the town has been without king for almost 10years and I can bodly said it that its because the town didn’t have king that’s why we and an indigenous of the town refuse to come there’s so many good things that we suppose to come and do in that town but so far there’s no leader or king we prefer to put them in another city like Akure lags and Abuja
