Akeredolu Must Prioritize AAUA Students’ Welfare Through Funding _ Adejuyigbe

Architect Jide Adejuyigbe, the immediate past commissioner for Education in Ondo state has Advised Governor Rotimi Akeredolu to place priority on funding Education in the state.

He said this on Thursday during a program on Adaba FM, monitored by Nigerian Cable News.

Paired with the commitional for Information, Hon. Yemi Olowolabi. Adejuyigbe said that the argument of paucity of funds is not a tenable reasons for the proposed increment in the tuition fee at Adekunle Ajasin University, while adding that the government must take deliberate actions to fund the University and make it affordable to the children of the Poor.

He further opined, that the government of the day should take a clue from the immediate past. Who did not only make the school fee affordable, but also paid WAEC fees for students in the state.

Olowolabi in his response however said the school fee in AAUA is not realistic, and that the past government only lacked the courage to effect the increment.

Residents of the state who phoned in during the program however called the incumbent government a ‘419 Government’ while also condemning the proposed tuition fees hike.
