Ajimobi Reopens Emmanuel Alayande College
The Oyo state Governor Abiola has ordered the reopening of Emmanuel Alayande College of Education after meeting with the students, staff and management yesterday.
The state Governor had earlier ordered the shutdown of the institution, following the unruly conduct of the students during protests on the 2nd of June.
After the students were led by the Provost of the college, Dr Rasak Adefabi, alongside the college management team to apologise, Governor Ajimobi ordered the immediate resumption of academic activities.
At the end of the meeting, the Governor said:
“Our students should always engage government and relevant stakeholders in dialogue on issues that affect them.
“You have apologised to the government and we have seen that you are sober.
“We have accepted your apology and hereby announce the re-opening of the institution with immediate effect”.
