AFCON 2023: Osimhen Doubtful For South Africa Semifinal Clash

Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen is a doubt for the next Super Eagles match against South Africa in the semifinals of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast.

According to the information, issued by the team media officer, Babafemi Raji said Osimhen will not be going to Bouake, the venue of the match with the rest of the squad on Monday night.

According to him, “We will fly from Abidjan to Bouaké today (Monday) via a 10 pm Air Cote D’Ivoire flight.

“Victor Osimhen will not join us on this trip as a result of abdominal discomfort. Team medics confirmed that he has been placed under close watch with a member of the medical team staying behind in Abidjan with him.

“If cleared by tomorrow morning, he will join the rest of the squad before 5 pm,” the statement read.

Nigeria are through to the semi-finals for the 15th time as they continue their bid for a fourth AFCON title.
