‘A Round Peg in A Round Hole’ – Ilaje Leaders Hail Tinubu Over Otito Atikase’s Appointment

Leaders of the Ilaje local government area extraction of Ondo state have applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the appointment of Honourable Otito Thompson Atikase as a member of the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC)

In a statement made available to Nigerian Cable News Online on Monday, the leaders, who gathered under the auspices of Ilaje Central Organisation (OIC), described Otito’s appointment as a round peg in a round hole, while also congratulating the president on his recent victory at the presidential election tribunal.

HON. OTITO ATIKASE’S APPOINTMENT: A ROUND PEG IN A ROUND HOLE.

We, members of the ILAJE CENTRAL ORGANISATION (ICO), on behalf of Ilaje Local Government, use this medium to congratulate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his victory at the tribunal and equally express our deep appreciation for the appointment of one of the best hands in Ilaje Local Government of Ondo State in the person of Hon. Otito Thompson Atikase as a member on the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC. Mr. President, we are not surprised by your choice of Hon. Otito Atikase to represent Ondo State, having known that you must have gotten the facts and figures of each State upon which your decisions in making choices are based.

Meanwhile, our attention has been drawn to a frivolous statement issued by one Adejugba Oyinbo somi d’akin, who now claims Ogundere and Adeoba, giving Mr. President Seven days ultimatum to reverse the said appointment, on the premise that, Otito Atikase is not from the oil producing community.

We are pleased Mr. President, to inform you that, Adejugba Oyinbo somi d’akin and his gangs never got, and has no Locus Standi or capacity to get such authority to represent UGBO KINGDOM. He was not sent by any of the quarters of UGBO KINGDOM, he is only hunting for means of survival. Adejugba and his cohorts are members of all parties, they don’t belong to one, and in this circumstance, it is cocksure that they are being sponsored by some political gamers, and they must be cut to their sizes.

Hon. Otito Atikase is a true Son of ILAJE whose great-grandfather (EHINMORE) Owned one of the biggest Communities Established by him in UGBO KINGDOM Called “ODUN EHINMORE”.

Therefore, any statement written by anybody in this regard should be descountenouced. What we are preaching is the UNITY and DEVELOPMENT of ILAJE, and, that is what Hon. Otito Atikase stands for. He had represented Ilaje at the Ondo State House of Assembly and, he did not disappoint us. When he was in the Assembly, he was the Chairman, House Committee on OSOPADEC, the Committee in charge of the development of the Oil producing communities of the State.

Above all, Hon. Otito Atikase is a party man to the core. In the last elections, he worked conscientiously as the Director General (DG) APC PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN COMMITTEE, Ilaje Local Government, 2023, and he delivered all the candidates of the party. He did not betray the party.

His appointment is well embraced by the leaders of the party (APC), and the entire people of Ilaje Local Government.

Once again, we appreciate Mr. President for appointing a political tactician like Hon. Otito Atikase, a party man, who knows virtually all the members of the party, and, also understands the terrain in the Niger Delta Region. We are solidly behind him, we believe in him, and we have confidence in him, he will not disappoint us.
