2023: Thousands Dump PDP, NNPP for APC in Akoko

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akoko Northwest Local Government has on Friday welcomed thousands of decampees at the Party’s Ward rally in Ogbagi Akoko.

The Party during the rally, which was well attended by members of the party, received decampees from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) and other fringe parties in the local government.

The decampees hinged their decisions on the achievements of Honourable Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the House of Representatives member representing Akoko North East/North West Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, saying that his numerous projects in the area are enough to make the party attractive to anyone.

Speaking on behalf of the decampees, Honourable Moses Sunday said: “We have seen the good works of BTO. We also want to be partakers and beneficiaries of his good works.

“Beyond this, there is also the prospect of even a brighter future for the local government with the quality of aspirants the party will be parading in 2023. Jide Ipinshagba is a successful businessman and a proven leader of men.

“Hon. Taofeeq Muhammed will have a shot at the speakership position if returned for second term.” He added.

While welcoming the decampees, the local government party Chairman, Kehinde Obanla congratulated them for “leaving the dark and coming to the light”.

He said; “Here, we do not discriminate. We are all party members and we reward loyalty. We therefore congratulate you for leaving darkness and coming to light.

“As you can see, in Ogbagi Akoko alone, we can point to many projects and interventions. We will do more together.”

The Director General of the Presidential Campaign Council in Akoko North East/North West Federal Constituency, Rasheed Badmus appreciated Party members for turning up in large numbers, noting that it showed the opposition is dead in the local government.

The member representing Akoko North West Constituency II at the Ondo State House Assembly, Taofik Muhammed also corroborated Badmus’s position. He specifically promised to bring representation even more closer to the people.

In his closing remarks, Director of the Media and Publicity Directorate, Ifeoluwa Ehindero highlighted the achievements of the APC led representatives in Ogbagi as a ward.

“Ogbagi will soon be linked directly to Arigidi Akoko as the APC led state government has started work on the road.

“Several water projects, blocks of classrooms, road networks and many more have been influenced in the ward by our super MHR, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo. With APC at all levels, we are sure the ward will get more.” Ife said.

Also present at the rally were Legislative aide to Hon Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Apalowo Thalis, who noted that the APC is no longer bothered about winning but working hard to win all political units with wide margin.
