2019: Alash’s Killer Rice Claims Multiple Lives In Ekiti; Senator Commiserates With Victims

Tragedy struck in Ekiti state over the weekend, as a truck conveying vote buying rice being transported to Ondo State by Senator Tayo Alasoadura of the APC claimed the lives of several innocent people and left many injured in Iworoko Ekiti.

The truck loaded with branded APC rice bearing the picture of APC candidate for Ondo Central Senatorial district, Senator Tayo Alasoadura, lost control, rammed into a popular market in the town and killed not fewer than 15 people

Those reported to have died included a mother, her child, a Youth Corps member, traders and some students of the Ekiti State University in the town.

According to a reliable source in Akure APC, “the Senator was smuggling in the rice Which is about 500,000 bags from a northern state as part of his election buying baits. He was planning to start sharing from February 12th across the six local government areas of the Central Senatorial district to buy votes in the February 16th election.

“The unfortunate truck was trying to smuggle into Akure, the first tranche of the rice worth about N300million.”

Sensing that several attempts to cover up the unfortunate incident could not work, because the rice have been branded with his picture, name and APC logo, Senator Alasoadura hurriedly issued a press statement to commiserate with the families of the victims of his killer rice which claimed the lives of innocent people and left many injured.

In the statement he said “the rice was meant for his constituents to enjoy Christmas/New year celebration as part of his love gift in the spirit of the season but the delivery was delayed till now.”

Alasoadura however didn’t mention any reward for the victims of the unfortunate incident caused by his smuggled rice.

Another constituent who doesn’t want his name mentioned said “it is very unfortunate that the truck claimed lives of innocent people. While mourning the dead, we must also thank God the rice didn’t make it to Ondo State, otherwise the disaster could be more fatal, I have no doubt the rice is meant for evil that is why God stopped the truck bringing it. Why was Alasoadura trying to smuggle in the rice into Akure in the dark at night? Why didn’t they bring it in during the day, so many questions are begging for answers, may God deliver us from politicians and their evil plans.”
