2019: Akeredolu Shifts Ground, Endorses All Ondo APC Candidates

Contrary to speculations in some quarters, Ondo state Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has asked members of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the state to vote all candidates of the party in the Saturday February 16th General elections across board.

Governor Akeredolu hinged his change of stand on the need not to confuse voters with its consequence of affecting President Muhammadu Buhari’s votes in the state.

The governor in a telephone conversation with some leaders opposing him said as the Chancellor of Anglican Communion, he has forgiven Senator Ajayi Boroffice and others who worked against him.

“I have to put my Christian faith to reality, we were bound to disagree and also agree in some situations”

“As a leader, I must show exemplary leadership by doing the needful to ensure that our party, the APC emerge victorious in the elections”

“If Jesus can forgive our iniquities, who am I a mortal being not to let go in the interest of promoting our party”

Governor Akeredolu urged all party faithfuls to discountenance all previous insinuations and instructions to vote for the Action Alliance, AA and direct all Ondo State people to vote APC in all the elections come Saturday, 16th February, 2019.

Reacting to the statement, immediate and pioneer Chairman of APC in Ondo state, Hon Isaacs Kekemeke and a l former Deputy Governor, Alhaji Alli Olanusi both said if the information is correct, then Governor Akeredolu must be commended for the statesmanship.
