Obasanjo – A Weak Opportunist, Monster, Other Names Fayose Called Ex-President
The Executive Governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose is at the moment not taking it lightly with the erstwhile president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.
Fayose had an extensive interview with PUNCH newspaper and he employed some seemingly unpleasant names to describe the personality of the aged leader and two-times President of Nigeria, under the guise that he is well familiar of who he is.
For the records, Fayose is fearless warrior and eloquent speaker who is relentlessly speaking vehemently on the health of President Muhammadu Buhari, his return and other policies by the Presidency, he finds unsuitable in his judgment.
This time, he is expanding coast by staying strongly on the comments towards the ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo. He stated that he is not merely attacking the president but saying what he knows well of him.
“I worked with him and know that Obasanjo is a sadist, an opportunist – a man who would rather put a weakling
in position (of power). How would he ask Yar’Adua that
he knew was sick to be president?” he asked.
“I wonder why some media (organisations) celebrate
Obasanjo. Obasanjo has no character. Obasanjo was the
first president that trampled on our constitution in all ways using brute force.”
Note that, a while ago, Obasanjo who was the Chairman Board of Trustee of People’s Democratic Party shockingly resigned and declared in farewell from the party.
Fayose also noted that Obasanjo no longer has stake “in terms of human beings” in party politics in the south-west.
According to him, “when you say human support, Obasanjo does not enjoy such in the south-west.”
“Obasanjo is only left with the clout of being a former president,” he added.
Recalling his experience with Obasanjo while he was the Governor before impeachment and the the latter was the President, Fayose mentioned that he was only scared of Obasanjo in spite of his inexperience in government but times have informed him not to be fretful of the man as he is a weak man who will also dread at the sight of criticism.
He added this:
“At the time I was the governor, I was a young man. I was avoiding Obasanjo because he was from the same zone as me. One thing I have known is that Obasanjo will run away if you can stand up against him. Obasanjo is a weak man; the moment you can stand up against him, he will chicken out.
“Look at Orji Uzor Kalu and late governor of Niger State.
At that time, I couldn’t stand up (against Obasanjo). I have now found out that, sometimes, it is good to confront monsters. We are guided by the constitution and respect for the rule of law. Obasanjo messed up by disobeying the rule of law and removing governors at will.
“Elders are only meaningful when they are using their grey hair to lead the people well. You only respect grey hair when the man is upright. Obasanjo is not a man to be respected; he is an opportunist.”
Not forgetting facts, Governor Fayose, who was once impeached as Governor of the state returned to the seat in an overwhelming victory and is yet declared a fresh intention for the position of Presidency – a position – both Chief Obasanjo and President Buhari have experienced sufficiently. In recent times, he confidently stated that he will be visited in Aso Rock as either the President or Vice-President by his present enemies doubting his to-come victory.
