Unpaid Salaries: Ondo Varsities, Poly workers go Spiritual

The leadership of Ondo state Tertiary Institution workers have resolved to adopt spiritual means in demanding their unpaid salaries, deductions and other entitlemens from the state government.

The workers who gathered under the auspices of Joint Action Committee (JAC), including SSANU, NASU, NAAT and SSANIP made the decision after an emergency meeting held on Tuesday at the Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa.

Their resolution at the end of the meeting as sent to Nigeriancablenewsonline.com reads in part as follows:

“…members are informed that Tuesday, 1st December, 2020 has been declared a day of fasting and prayer.”

“This is not unconnected with unpaid salaries, deductions and other allowances.”

“Members are to observed the fasting and prayer in line with their belief and gather at noon to offer prayers.”

The letter signed by the JAC secretary, Comrade Peter Akindehinde added that:
“we believe that our God, who is the creator of the universe will intervene”.

Some of the workers who spoke with Nigerian cable news online on the condition of anonymity said the state government is owning them over thirteen (13) months deductions and six(6) months salary.
