ONDO: Ose/Owo-Ilaje Youths Propose Treaty For Unity, Development
Youths from Owo, Ose and Ilaje local government areas of ondo state have proposed a treaty for unity and development to be signed by youth leaders and stakeholders from the three local governments.
In statement jointly signed by youth associations from the three local governments and made available to journalists of Monday, the youths noted that the treaty will serve as a formal reaffirmation of their commitment to unity, development, and the common good of their people.
Below is the full text of the statement unedited;
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to our Ilaje brothers for their magnanimous volition in recognizing and rejecting the divisive agenda of certain fifth columnists who seek to disrupt the enduring bond between the people of Ose/Owo and Ilaje. Our shared history, built on mutual respect, cooperation, and peaceful coexistence, remains unshaken despite external attempts to sow discord.
As youth leaders and stakeholders committed to unity and progress, we stand resolute in calling for a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to further solidify our long-standing historical relationship. This treaty will serve as a formal reaffirmation of our commitment to unity, development, and the common good of our people.
We call on prominent youth leaders such as Leader Ojo Bright Eniafe, Leader Obanoyen Adidas, and other relevant youth stakeholders to spearhead and ensure the successful realization of this treaty. The collective will of our people remains our strength, and we must act decisively to preserve the peace and progress we have always enjoyed.
Furthermore, we acknowledge and align ourselves with the unanimous declaration of support by the Ugboland, Mahin-Aheri/Etikan, and GWAMA patriots in their commitment to good governance and stability in Ondo State.
Additionally, we stand in solidarity with the Indigenous Ilaje Nation Youth Groups in their recent vote of confidence on Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and the State Finance Commissioner, Mrs. Isaac Omowunmi. Their dedication to the service of Ondo State is commendable, and we strongly condemn the baseless allegations propagated by faceless political mercenaries under the guise of the so-called “Igbalaye Youth Group,” which, upon investigation, has been found to be non-existent in Ilajeland. These false narratives are merely the handiwork of political vampires desperate to destabilize the government and plunder the state’s treasury.
We commend the SSA Youth Empowerment and Job Creation; Ambassador Gbayisemore Orioye Benedict for his relentless efforts and charge him to further create the enabling environment to facilitate the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with immediate effect.
As a testament to our shared vision for unity and progress, we propose that the MoU be formally signed on the Thursday, 13th of February, 2025.
This treaty marks a new chapter in the Ose/Owo-Ilaje alliance—a chapter of unwavering brotherhood, collaboration, and sustainable development.
