Ondo Kingdom Youths Graduate First Batch of Media Trainees in Kaftan TV, Two Employed

Youths from Ondo East and West Local governments have concluded a three-month intensive media skill training at the Ondo Station of the Kaftan Television.

The program, Queen Lillian Adebayo TV Broadcast Training, named after the sponsor is an initiative of the Ondo Ekimogun Youth Congress (OEYC), the umbrella body of all youth groups in the kingdom.
It is fashioned to empower youths with functional skills that can make them valuable and employable, both nationally and internationally. The valedictory ceremony took place at the Ondo Station of Kaftan TV on Friday 7th of May, 2021.
The candidates were trained in all aspects of Television Broadcasting viz Camera control, video editing, on-air presentation, graphics design, scriptwriting, and other needed skills. By the end of the program, they all produce good quality on-air content without supervision. The training mode was carefully fashioned to correct the graduate unemployability problems predominant in Nigeria in the most effective ways.
The Ondo Station Manager of the Kaftan TV, Mr. Adewale Stephen appreciated the commitment of the sponsor to youth development and nation-building through the 21st Century deliberate impartation of relevant functional technical skills. The skills emphasized in this program are mobile, and in high demand in all media houses, and many organizations that are concerned about public image. Much is been imparted in the graduands, the society expects much in returns from them. He also appreciated the commitment of all Kaftan TV staff in delivering the best in the course of the training.
While appreciating the sponsor of the training, The Coordinator of the Ondo Ekimogun Youth Congress, Mr. Olusola Akinbinu appreciated the efforts of the President of Kaftan TV, Barr. Wole Adebayo and the Osemawe of Ondo Land, Oba (Dr.) Victor Adesimbo Kiladejo, CFR, Jilo III in ensuring that the initiative came to reality in the kingdom. The training will take place four times a year. Akinbinu said the OEYC is committed to restoring hopes of livelihood to many of our young people who have graduated from higher institutions but can not find their foot in society. Kaftan TV gives among the best exposure and experience in broadcasting in Africa, with what the candidates have now, they have the capacity to negotiate jobs on merit or create a world of their own.
The Chairman Ondo Ekimogun Youth Advisory Committee, Dr. (Mrs) Bridget Itunu Awosika also appreciated the sponsor of the program, the management of Kaftan TV, the Osemawe of Ondo Kingdom, and the ODC. She charged the graduands to always look for every opportunity to demonstrate what they have learned. Greatness comes from daily efforts even in the midst of general uncertainty. She expressed delight in the performances of the candidates and she is optimistic that very soon their names will be heard in great places. Mr. Kenneth Adegeye, the Coordinator II of the Ondo Ekimogun Youth Congress charged the candidates that the society also has a place for people who bring value. That value is what they have acquired.
Mr. Adewale announced to the gathering that Kaftan TV retained two of the candidates for immediate employment, and has a catalog of all trainees where they may be contacted for future engagements. He is however very optimistic that many organizations need the skills that they have been empowered with.
