Ondo Assembly Crisis: We Will Not Take Orders From Fayemi, Aggrieved Members Insist
The crisis rocking the Ondo state house of assembly may have taken a news dimension as the aggrieved majority members among the honourables have rejected the Voluntary intervention of the Ekiti state Governor, Kayode Fayemi in the matter.
Nigeriancablenewsonline.com can report that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Monday held a ‘reconcilitary’ meeting with the Aggrieved majority members, governor Rotimi Akeredolu, the impeached speaker(Mr. Oleyeloogun), The ousted deputy speaker, and the two controversial Honourables(Oluyede and Olajide). Who plaid initial active roles in the impeachment process, but are now trying to back out.
An impeccable source, who pleaded anonymity revealed to nigeriancablenewsonline.com that the active participations of Oluyede and Olajide was proven beyond reasonable doubt.
“The Vice President was made to understand that Oluyede was even the initial coordinator of the impeachment process. And that he was the one sending messages to others, each time there was a meeting to discuss the impeachment move”, our source disclosed.
” Osinbajo was also told with evidences, that Olajide was the one giving updates of developments in the impeached speaker’s caucus, to the aggrieved majority, through text messages”, our source further added.
Nigeriancablenewsonline also gathered that that V. P Osinbajo, after the facts and evidences were presented deligated governor Fayemi of Ekiti, who had earlier volunteered, to mediate in the case and report back to him, as governor Akeredolu was obviously dumbfounded.
However, nigeriancablenewsonline.com can confirm that the aggrieved caucus have pledged not to take any directive from Fayemi, bearing in mind, his antecedent of undermining the automonomy of the Legislature and the principle of the separation of powers in governance.
The aggrieved caucus particularly pointed to fact that Fayemi had recently supervised the suspension of 14 Honourables of the Ekiti state House of Assembly.
The majority Honourable members led by the new speaker, Rt. Hon. Olamide George have however decided that the impeachment of the former speaker is a done deal, and not reversible.
