Why I Want To Be PDP Chairman – Ladoja
The former Governor of Oyo state and the founder of the Accord Party, Senator Rashidi Ladoja, who recently decamped to Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has spoken out about his reason behind joining the national chairmanship race for the opposition party.
Speaking on the Ibadan-based radio station, Fresh F.M on Saturday, Ladoja established that he is not interested in pursuing a return to being governor of Oyo state, after losing two consecutive times to the incumbent Governor Abiola Ajimobi, stating that his last trial for the office was geared by the interest of his people who believe he is of goodwill.
He was the governor of Oyo state between 2003 and 2007 under PDP but left the party to form Accord Party in 2015, because of his felt misdeeds against him in the party.
However, Ladoja buttressed that he wishes to be the Olubadan of Ibadanland than being the state governor for a second time.
It can be noted that he is actually closer to the throne as he is the Osi Olubadan.
On the ex-governor’s new ambition of PDP chairmanship, he explained that his main agenda for seeking the position is to right the wrongs of the past by creating a level-playing ground for all aspirants for all positions in elections across Nigeria.
“I was a victim of that. I am contesting to ensure that no other party member falls victim of that. I will instill confidence in everybody by ensuring there is a level-playing ground for every party member in all parts of Nigeria,” he said.
